What I collect when you buy a guide, join the newsletter or email me, and what you can ask me to do with it.

Who I am
The Fox Kit is a trading name of Euan Fox, 54 Main Street, Brookeborough BT94 4EZ. I’m the “controller” of the personal data described here, which means I decide how it’s used.
If you have any questions about your data, email me at [email protected].
What I collect and why
If you buy a guide
- Your name, email address, billing country and what you bought.
- I use this to deliver your guide, send your receipt, send the discount code for your next guide, and deal with any problem with your order.
- The legal basis is that I need it to carry out our contract. I also keep order records because tax law requires it.
Your payment is handled by Payhip and its payment providers. I never see or store your full card details.
If you join the newsletter
- Your email address, and a record of when and how you signed up.
- I use it to send you occasional emails with recruitment dates, interview tips and news of new guides.
- The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the sign-up form. You can withdraw it at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in any email, or by emailing me.
If you email me
- Your email address and whatever you write.
- I use it to reply to you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering your question.
I don’t sell your data, and I don’t use it for anything else.
Who I share it with
- Payhip runs the shop and the newsletter. It processes your order details, your email address and your newsletter subscription on my behalf. Payhip has its own privacy policy, which explains how it handles data.
- Payment providers used by Payhip’s checkout process your payment.
- My email provider stores emails you send me.
- Google. This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
- Professional advisers or authorities, such as an accountant or HMRC, only where needed or required by law.
Some of these services may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they’re required to protect it to UK standards.
How long I keep it
- Order records: for as long as tax law requires, usually six years.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that I keep only what’s needed to make sure you don’t get emailed again.
- Emails: kept while I deal with your question, then deleted.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and it doesn’t set any cookies itself.
The checkout runs on Payhip’s pages, which may use their own cookies to make the shop work. Payhip’s cookie information explains these.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you
- ask me to correct it if it’s wrong
- ask me to delete it
- ask me to restrict or stop using it, or object to how I use it
- ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time
To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. I’ll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your data, please tell me first and I’ll try to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If I change how I use your data, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
